Marco "Kill Bill" Liesy

Known as “Kill Bill” by those who have played with him, Marco Liesy is one of the aspiring young poker talents quickly rising in accomplishments in the poker scene.  While working as a commercial apprentice salesperson by day, Marco took to the online poker tables at night beginning at age 17, and by the time he was 22, he turned to poker full time.  Marco is a true student of the game, and is considered by many to be catching up quickly to some of the top names.  It would surprise nobody who has played with him to see him score a big live tournament cash soon.

His online scores have been very impressive over the last 24 months, notching more than 20 4-figure scores from Final Tables in major online tournaments.  Some highlights include winning the $14,000 KO Guarantee for $7,410, Runner up in the Fifty-Fifty (a $5,900 cash), runner up in the $13,500 Guarantee (a $6,272 cash), and a final table in the $24,000 Guarantee (a $3,666 cash).  In all, Marco has more than $60k in online tournament winnings this year, to accompany a 2008 that saw him score over $125,000 in tournament winnings on Full Tilt Poker.

Recently, Marco had a very deep run on November 1^st in a $163 buy in event with 1585 entries.  Marco would bow out with another Final Table finish, this time in 4^th place for a score of $19,317.   Not a bad day’s work.

In the live tournament scene, Marco has racked up an impressive $261,351 in career cashes since 2005, highlighted by 2 World Series of Poker Cashes, and 2 European Poker Tour Cashes.  His cash in this year’s World Series of Poker was the deepest run of any tournament he’s played in at the WSOP before, where he finished in 13^th place in the $1,500 No Limit Hold’em Shootout.  He would follow that performance a month later by taking 1^st place in the 2009 CAPT Velden, and winning the Wothersee Trophy – Limit 7 Card Stud Event, and taking home $44,066 for the first place prize.
