TPT Event Scoring

Scoring System Goals

  • Provide a social atmosphere to encourage all types of players to participate
  • Reward players who participate regularly as they will accumulate points for playing.
  • Reward the top finishers in a scalable fashion. As the field grows, they will receive more points as it is tougher to navigate larger fields.

Scoring Details

The Twitter Poker Tour awards points to all players who participate. It will encourage participation and keep the atmosphere social and competitive.  Since it is Poker after all, we will reward those players who finish in the money with bonus points as follows:

1st Place: (Total Players x Buyin) * .50
2nd Place: (Total Players x Buyin) * .30
3rd Place: (Total Players x Buyin) * .20
[ Will be adjusted when more paid spots needed ]

All players are then awarded participation points depending upon the position they finished in and the depth of the field. Points are awarded as follows: 2*(T-F+1) where T is the size of the field and F is the players finish.

1st Place: 2x(25-1+1) = 50
2nd Place: 2x(25-2+1) = 48
3rd Place: 2x(25-3+1) = 46
...
...
...
23rd Place: 2x(25-23+1) = 6
24th Place: 2x(25-24+1) = 4
25th Place: 2x(25-25+1) = 2

The Bonus Finish points are then added to the Participation Points for the totals.
