Yeah, I thought about laying this one down preflop and just waiting for a better spot.  However, since we had pretty deep stacks and A3 is such a weak hand, I knew I could get away from it pretty easy unless I hit the board hard.

Two hearts was, of course, the second-best flop I could hope for.  I immediately decided that I would stack off to QJ if another heart came.  Since Flea was so kind as to check and let me see a free turn, I decided I'd make my flush before putting any money in.  I was going to dump on the turn if I missed.

Luckily, the heart came.  Flea made his modest bet, and I sat there and thought for a good amount of time.  I really didn't want to scare him away, as I didn't think he had much of anything.  Maybe Q9 or something along those lines, but just as likely to have nothing.  I didn't put him on a J.  Finally, I realized I was taking too long and just went ahead and minraised.  I thought it would look like a bluff.

When he reshoved all-in, I thought I had fooled him and was thrilled to call.  When I saw the AJ I realized I hadn't have needed to agonize over the raise, and I laughed out loud iin my triumph… and then that A came on the river and I literally yelled out "D'oh!"  I felt like I had been punched in the stomach.  Ah well.

Congrats, Flea, that was a great game.

The suck-resuck-triple suck, brought to you courtesy of Full Tilt Poker.

I honestly put him on either a smaller J or a 4 flush. A hand like JT or KJ was possible, but I was thinking that I was trapping him with a Q or something too. So when the flop came out, I thought I'd pray, and I said something to the effect of "Dear Lord baby Jesus, lyin' there in your ghost manger, just lookin' at your Baby Einstein developmental videos, learnin' 'bout shapes and colors. I would like to thank you for bringin' me wired Jacks. Now, let me trap this unlucky table mate into doubling me so that I can be one hand closer to 'Bling Blang Blaow."

When the turn card came out, I honestly didn't place him on the flush. I thought he may raise this up if he has a large heart (especially the Ace of hearts) and I want the money all in right here. So I prayed again, and this time it went something like "Dear 8 pounds 6 ounces… new born infant jesus, don't even know a word yet, please let my 3 jacks with the nut kicker hold. And if you'd be so gracious, oh merciful man who wears a Tuxedo shirt, cause it says "I'm formal, but I'm still here to party," please pair the board or bring an Ace or a Jack on the river so that 'Bling Blang Blaow' may be reached."

And I think the prayers worked too, cause it worked (obv.) and the miracle Ace on the River was delievered by Barry Greenstein…er…uh….Baby Jesus….of course.

GG 4flush.
