Should the New Years TPT:Stars Count?
December 29, 2008 in Tournament Updates by cprpoker
Please answer the poll below so we can gauge interest in the TPT:Stars New Years event. If there is enough interest we will make the event count in the standings.

OK, who voted LOL?
I think it should count.
Reason being; if the WSOP didn’t have enough players turn up would they say, “Shall we actually pay out this year or shall we restart it when interest picks up?”

@Rawrstar true sir, but they also wouldn’t schedule a WSOP or WSOPe event on a major holiday!
I voted no, because Street3 wants it to count so he can finally get a top 6 place, assuming there is only 6 people in that is.
I say no.
It’s a holiday that most will be spending with friends and/or family at home or out at some party venue. Asking players concerned about their ranking to forgo said activities is selfish.

Uhhh Gee-off… the main event of WSOP actually had one of its Day Ones on Fourth of July. Pretty sure it counted then too.
I stand corrected.

Heck yeah it should count. Professionals like the Detroit Lions have to play every Thanksgiving (ok, calling them professionals may be a stretch). You will find the Lakers on the court on Christmas. Why shouldn’t the #tpt be on New Years Day? This is like our bowl game. You get to brag (if you win) that you won the Daytona 500 of the #tpt.
